FAQ

What do I need for you to see me at home?
I can visit you in any space where you feel comfortable, whether that’s your lounge, bedroom, or wherever suits you best. If you have access to a bed or couch, that’s perfect for assessments, or I can bring along a portable treatment plinth if we need it. We’ll make it work in whatever way feels right for you.

But my home isn’t clean or tidy… (or insert any other worry here!)
Please don’t stress, I’m a mum myself and understand exactly what those weeks of pregnancy and postpartum are like. I’m coming to support you, not to judge your home. Truly, I’ve seen it all, from perfectly tidy spaces to those wonderfully lived-in with laundry piles and toys about. All I need is a spot to work together, so don’t ever feel you have to tidy on my account!
-
Can I see you during pregnancy?
Absolutely! I can help with common pregnancy concerns like pelvic or back pain, continence issues and pelvic floor review. I’m also here to support you with exercise programs or by modifying your current routine so you can stay safely active throughout your pregnancy.
-
Do I need to lock up my animals?
Only if they’re unfriendly! I love animals, and am very happy to have dogs, cats, or any other furry friends nearby during your appointment. I just ask that you contain them if they’re nervous with strangers or might nibble on my equipment.
-
What if I haven’t shaved my legs, armpits, or bits?
No need to worry at all. I see bodies in all their wonderful variations, and it truly doesn’t matter to me. If we need to do an internal exam at your 6-week check, I promise it’s just another part of my job, no judgement ever. Your comfort and choices come first, always. If you feel uncomfortable with an internal exam I can complete a real time ultrasound assessment of your pelvic floor although on it’s own this has it’s limitations. We can talk about this together and you can make a decision with what you feel comfortable.

I have mastitis. Can you help?
Yes I can. I bring a portable ultrasound machine and can use it to help clear blocked ducts and get your milk moving again. Ultrasound can be especially helpful in the early stages of blocked ducts or mastitis, so please reach out as soon as possible, and I’ll do my best to fit you in quickly.

Do you charge for travel?
The first 30mins of travel is included in the fees laid out on our services page. Travel is calculated from approximately around the Perth Airport. For travel 30-60mins an additional fee of $20 is charged. For travel over 60mins please call me to discuss your options.
-
Can I claim your services from my health insurer?
Yes! I have a mobile hicaps machine, but being mobile it only works when it has mobile reception. I can also provide bank details and a receipt you can submit to your health insurer for reimbursement if needed.

I'm uncomfortable with an internal exam, can you still help?
Yes! There are lots of different options for assessing you postpartum, and if you feel uncomfortable with an internal exam I won’t put you under any pressure. I will always explain procedures and give you options-every assessment is only done with your informed consent.
